FAQs

  • It’s simple and stress-free—just like your wedding should be! Here’s how it works:

    1. Choose Your Services: Browse our website and pick the services that fit your dream wedding.

    2. Fill Out the Booking Form: Complete our easy proposal request form.

    3. Get Your Proposal: We’ll send you a proposal that includes the cost estimate, contract, and a link to make a $200 deposit payment.

    4. Secure Your Date: Pay the $200 deposit to lock in your wedding date.

    What Happens Next?

    • When’s the Balance Due? The remaining balance is due one month before your big day.

    • Need to Cancel? Life happens. If you cancel at least one month before your wedding, you’ll only forfeit the $200 deposit (which covers the work we’ve done to book vendors).

Pro Tip: Maui is a top wedding destination, and the best dates—especially during peak season and holidays—go quickly. The sooner you book, the better your chances of snagging your ideal date!

  • Getting your Hawaii marriage license is quick and easy—let’s break it down:

Step 1: Fill Out the Marriage License Application

    • Complete the online marriage license application here: Marriage License Application.

    • Pay the $65 application fee.

Step 2: Schedule an Appointment with a Marriage License Agent

Appointments are required, so plan ahead! Here’s who to contact:

    • Online Booking: Sherilynn Takushi - Marriage License Agent

    • Phone: (808) 276-6919

Step 3: Bring the Essentials to Your Appointment

    Don’t forget these important items:

    • A valid photo ID (driver’s license or passport).

    • Your application Locator ID (emailed to you after completing the online form).

    • $5 in cash for the agent’s processing fee.

Step 4: Bring Your License to Your Wedding

At your appointment, your marriage license will be issued. Be sure to bring it to your wedding ceremony so your officiant can complete the process.

  • This is the million-dollar question, and honestly, there’s no wrong answer—it’s Maui!

    • Morning weddings offer a soft, tropical glow. The beaches are quieter, the ocean is crystal clear, and the trade winds are gentler. Your photos will have vibrant blues and greens, with that fresh "just woke up in paradise" vibe. Plus, you can spend the rest of the day celebrating with your loved ones (or sneaking away for a romantic adventure).

    • Sunset weddings, on the other hand, bring all the romance. Think golden light, warm oranges and pinks, and the iconic Maui sunset as your backdrop. The lighting is soft and flattering, perfect for dreamy photos. Bonus: you can cap off the evening with a beachfront dinner under the stars.

Still torn? Let us know your vision, and we’ll guide you toward the option that fits your dream day.

  • Maui has no shortage of jaw-dropping wedding spots. From the rugged cliffs of Kapalua Bay to the golden sands of Makena Cove, you really can’t go wrong. But every couple is unique, and so is every beach.

    • Looking for privacy? We know the hidden gems.

    • Dreaming of dramatic waves crashing against lava rocks? Got it.

    • Want a lush garden with ocean views? Easy peasy.

If you’ve already browsed our Maui Wedding Locations page and still can’t decide, just tell us what you’re envisioning—tropical greenery, soft sand, dramatic cliffs—and we’ll make sure it’s love at first sight (with the location, of course).

  • Unfortunately, no. Kā’anapali Beach is restricted for commercial activity (and we’re all about following the rules). But don’t worry—there are plenty of stunning alternatives nearby. Check out our Beach Wedding Locations page for amazing spots just a short drive away. Trust us, you won’t miss Kaanapali one bit.

  • Hawaii has specific regulations for beach weddings to preserve its natural beauty:

    • No chairs, arches, or large decorations allowed.

    • A maximum of 30 people total (including the couple, guests, and vendors).

    • A beach permit is required and applies only to selected beaches.

We’ll guide you through these rules so your wedding is compliant, stress-free, and beautiful.

  • We work with experienced officiants who bring warmth and professionalism to your ceremony. Here’s what you can expect:

    • Meet Your Officiant Beforehand: You’ll meet your officiant about 20 minutes before the ceremony to go over the process and ensure everything runs smoothly.

    • Custom Vows and Traditions: Yes! You’re welcome to write your own vows or incorporate special readings, rituals, or traditions.

    • Ceremony Options: Choose from Hawaiian/Christian, Hawaiian Non-Religious, or a simple civil ceremony free of cultural traditions.

Your ceremony should reflect your unique love and values, and we’re here to help make it perfect!

  • Midday weddings are possible, but not ideal. Why? The sun at its peak creates harsh shadows and unflattering light (not to mention, it’s hot). For the best photos—and the most comfortable experience—we recommend mornings or sunsets. That said, we’ll happily accommodate your schedule and make sure everything looks as beautiful as possible.

  • Rain is rare at our wedding locations, but it does happen. Here’s the plan:

    • If it’s a passing shower, we’ll move to a nearby backup beach where it’s dry.

    • If it’s island-wide rain, we’ll proceed with umbrellas unless conditions are dangerous.

A little rain on your wedding day is considered a blessing in Hawaii, so embrace it—it’s part of the adventure!
